Coast and country photography holiday
North east Iceland in midsummer is absolutely gorgeous. The arctic light lingers on for hours on end. Lake Mývatn is without doubt the most beautiful and photogenic location in this part of Iceland. It’s one of my favorite places to photograph. There are just so many breathtaking wonders of nature on one spot. It is a volcanic hot spot and the whole area is quite active. It’s where the famous natural hot spring cave Grjótagjá is. Dimmuborgir, Námaskarð, Höfði, the powerplant Krafla are just a few well know spots. Then you can take a bath in the Nature baths, a Blue lagoon equivalent. We then head for Húsavík where we go whale watching. It’s a prime spot for whale watching and the town is very picturesque. |
